Pow Wow Pitch offers a pitching contest for Indigenous entrepreneurs spanning Turtle Island, aiming to highlight Pow Wow vendors, artists, business pioneers, and innovators from diverse backgrounds and industries, whether they’re at the inception stage or aiming for expansion.

11:00AM | AUTHOR’S READING WITH DARCY WHITECROW & HEATHER M. O’CONNOR – RUNS WITH THE STARS
Darcy Whitecrow, a member of the Seine River First Nation band in Northwestern Ontario, embraces traditional Ojibwe and Dakota lifestyles, including trapping, fishing, and ricing, and practices traditional spirituality in the Midewiwin and Sundance traditions. Alongside his partner Kim, he founded Grey Raven Ranch, a nonprofit dedicated to preserving the Ojibwe Horses breed and their cultural significance, and co-authored a picture book about the Ojibwe Spirit Horses with Heather M. O’Connor, showcasing their heritage while awaiting the birth of a new foal.

2:00PM | AUTHOR’S READING WITH DOROTHY TAYLOR – SACRED WATER TEACHINGS
Dorothy Taylor, an Elder and Knowledge Keeper from Curve Lake First Nation, founded the Sacred Water Circle, a volunteer-run initiative fostering relationships with water, the earth, and all non-human relatives. Through collaborative efforts with youth and various communities in Peterborough, the Circle promotes the message ‘Water is Life’ through activities like Water Walks and knowledge sharing, uniting Indigenous and non-Indigenous individuals for the benefit of water conservation.

3:00PM | POW WOW PITCH ROUND 2 PITCHES
The Top 10 will take the stage with the final 1-Minute Pitch followed by 2-minutes of Q&A with the judges in front of the audience.
